Church Park Victor

March 3rd 2009  Victor is thoroughly enjoying his winter break. We have been doing lots of long hacks out and he hunts with my husband. He is fit and well again now which is great. He has been chilling out in his field with his friend, and I would love to know what the joke was that these 2 horses were sharing to have so thoroughly amused Victor.

January 1st 2008 Victor has been taking a break from the dressage after a nasty fall in his field.  He misjudged one of his hand brake turns and crashed to the ground.  He was found to have rotated his pelvis, popped 2 ribs and had 2 vertebrae out in his poll.  He was a very sorry boy, but with the help of the McTimoney practitioner and the physio he is pretty well again now.  It has taken a while to get him fit again, but he gave Michael a really happy day out hunting on boxing day.  It was Michael's first time out hunting since he finished his cancer treatment and Victor was a brilliant boy and jumped everything he was asked.

Church Park Victor is sponsored by Maxavita Pernamax.  They make a brilliant joint supplement from green lipped mussel extract which really helps to support his joints during his dressage training.  He has been taking it for 2 years now and remains supple and happy in his work. I would highly recommend it. Information on this product can be found on http://www.maxavita.com/.

May 2008.

Victor continues to succeed with his dressage. He has qualified at both Elementary and Medium level for the Summer 2008 Regionals.

Warming up for yet another winning performance at Medium level.

Get the fancy footwork and the concentration!

Another successful day out competing in both Elementary & Medium classes at Kingston  Maurward.

A fun day out at a Pat Burgess showjumping clinic at Kingston Maurward. He loved it!

The joy of a good long "scritch" with his best friend - Rafferty.  Yes, he had been rolling - yuck!

March 2008.

Victor is a 17.2h bright bay warmblood.

My husband Michael bought him for me to learn to ride on again, and as a second                   hunter for himself.  Victor was  born in 1995 and was bred for show jumping in                       Cornwall  by Claire Rushworth.  He grew too big for the indoor arena and so she                       changed his   training to dressage.  She  affiliated him and achieved 2BD points with              him at prelim   prior to selling him at 8

His next owner became too busy to do much with him, and by the time we bought him              in October 2006 he was in a very poor condition.

This horse has the most amazing temperament and willingness to work.  He came here      on loan on the understanding that if he did not get on with Michael's Irish sports horse       he could not stay.  They fell in love with each other within the first 5 minutes and have remained inseperable ever since.  It is wonderful to see them run, roll and play with              each other.

He took to hunting with enormous enthusiasm and with his show jumping background flew across the country.

He takes the greatest of care of his novice Mum whom he blatantly adores - and the    feeling is mutual.

Last year my beloved husband was diagnosed with bowel cancer and it became very difficult for me to keep 2 large horses fit, look after Michael and my 95 year old mother.     A young rider - Sally Anne Pierson who has been teaching me to ride asked if she could  take Victor on in the Affiliated Dressage world, and so his new career started.

In the 9 months that she has been training him he has qualified and competed in the Winter Regional Semis at Novice level. Since then he has qualified at Elementary level for the Summer Regional Semis & is half qualified at Medium in his very first Medium test!

I ride him down to Sally Anne's manege several times a week for training and they                 both take training most weeks with Claire Moir, whose skills are taking them from                  strength to strength.
