Burley Dunbar.
We have just had the good fortune to be able to put a deposit down on the most beautiful New Forest colt. His name is Burley Dunbar and he is currently looking as though he is going to be a dark "forest dun". .jpg)
His dam is Burley Dunlin and his sire is Peronne Palaver. He has just turned 2 months old and is as cute as a button.
He has the most beautiful floaty paces, in fact he barely seemed to touch the ground as he belted round his field with his mother.
We are looking forward to watching him grow up, he lives very locally so I will be able to go and visit him until he is weaned in October
. I have bought him as a birthday present for my husband in the autumn.
Hopefully we shall be able to keep this very special boy entire as he has huge potential as a Stallion.
September 20th 2009.
The time has flown by and Dunbar is being weaned as we speak. He has made the most dramatic change in colour and now sports a coat in the most exotic shade of dark brown. He is a delightfully friendly chap and will be joining us here in early October.

We have been so lucky to yet again be able to visit Robert Maton's mares and their latest crop of foals. Our first purchase was Mallards Wood Remus, a beautiful well built bay colt. He has a very smart blaze right down the centre of his face, strong bones and is a big lad.
His dam is a beautiful graded mare - Mallards Wood Venus and his sire is the well known stallion Willoway Double Gold. We paid our deposit some months ago and are very excited as he is due to arrive here next Saturday along with his field friend - Mallards Wood Jackson - but more news of him in a moment.
By his size as a foal we would expect him to grow full up to height. He has the sweetest of natures and is already coming for a cuddle in the field. He hinnys loudly when I walk through the gate and rushes over to greet me.
It is such a privilege to be allowed to visit him whenever the mood takes me and to handle him so that he will be at ease with us once he comes to live here.

Having a scritch with his future Dad.
Now he is 4 months old he is much darker. I do hope that he keeps his mealy muzzle. He sports just one tiny white ermine mark on his front right coronary band.
Posing with one of his colt friends - Flashlight, another beautiful foal belonging to Robert Maton.
Mallards Wood Jackson is a month younger than Remus, so when we first met them both in the field he was very tiny indeed by comparison. We chose Remus and paid our deposit, and then watched Jackson grow on to be a sizeable colt. He had been reserved by someone else, but as luck would have it they pulled out a couple of weeks ago. I asked Robert's permission and took my husband back to see him and we decided to put in an offer for him as well. We are thrilled that Robert has accepted our offer, and so Jackson is coming to us too..jpg)
He has had a dramatic change in colour and is now the most lovely dark chocolate colour with just his stunning white star bang in the middle of his forehead.
He is very beautiful.
Burley Faith
Burley Faith also joined our band of 2009 foals. She is a dark brown filly with just a tiny white star bang in the middle of her forehead. She is a very beautiful little lady born on the 14th May 2009. Her dam is Mastwood Avril and her sire is Luckington Sportaide. We were very lucky to be allowed to buy her. She grew up in the same field as Burley Dunbar, so it is nice for them to come together.
