Tallauders Shamal

4th March 2009  Shamal is almost 3 years old now, and remains such a dear little man.  He never forgets that he loves both his mum and his cuddles. My sister took this photo of us last weekend.  He is such a daft brush.

11th May 2008. Shamal is 2 years old now. He is such a funny little man. He still loves his cuddles and rolls on his back to have his tummy tickled. He is just a bit too big to fit on my lap now, but he still tries.

Shamal snoozing in a sunbeam. He really needs to lose that winter coat, he is so hot!

  Scratch my tummy please Mum!

Shamal was born in 2006.

He is the same dun colour as his mother. Greenmantle Royal Storm. He was so tiny &  sweet natured as a foal if a little wobbly on his legs.

He grew up to be a total delight. Full of fun and party tricks.

Everyone fell in love with this tiny little man until the hormones kicked in. Wow, what a horror! 26" tall & a total monster. He attacked everyone and managed to lame my 6' 3" vet!  Too violent to keep, too dangerous to sell.

I took the decision to have him gelded, and within 48 hours my gorgeous little Mali Man was returned to me. I could not believe how quickly he returned to his old self and I would not hesitate to geld again under the same circumstances.

Shamal was never going to make a show horse, but he will make a fantastic Pets As Therapy horse when he is older and should join Boo in her work with the SCARF disabled children.  It is my intention to train him to pull the tiny cart when he is old enough.

In the meantime he continues to entertain us all and makes us laugh.  He has never forgotten his childhood trick of rolling on his back to have his tummy scratched and he helped me retain my sense of humour whilst my beloved husband - Michael - fought with cancer.

For that reason I will be forever grateful to him - and he has a home for life.

Having a kip and a cuddle with my "mum" in the sunshine - -as a foal.

Having a chat with his best friend - Bandit. They fell out when Shamal bit him on the     nose!
